Interpreting 101 (20 Hours)

Are you already fluent in more than one language? Have you ever thought about exciting career possibilities in interpreting, but you’re not sure where to start? Indy Language Center and Indy Translations have worked together to present a unique opportunity for you to learn the basics of interpreting from professionals with decades of industry experience. This is a live course taught through Zoom that will prepare you for exciting entry level work and add a certificate of achievement to your resume. In this course we address potential pitfalls or legal implications of interpreting, and prepare you to work confidently in a variety of interpreting situations. A minimum of three experienced interpreters will work with you over a two-week period. Students may interact with the instructors at any time during these live classes. There will also be time provided at the end of each class for questions as well. This course is also available and customizable with an industry-specific focus for individual businesses who have bilingual staff.
