Meet Anthony - English & German

Anthony Ocean (he/him) is a native speaker of English with over 11 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to students of all levels. He is also a fluent speaker of German; he began teaching German in 2007. Anthony started his English language teaching journey as a US Peace Corps Volunteer to the Philippines from 2008-2010, and he has since worked with children and adults, including professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds. In addition to teaching in the Philippines, Anthony has taught extensively in Indiana, in Michigan, and online.

Anthony’s teaching style is both engaging and structured. He enjoys helping students grow in confidence and fluency through a balance of speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice that fits the students’ needs. Anthony tailors his courses to his specific students and loves helping them reach their language goals.

What Anthony enjoys most about teaching is connecting with students and seeing their progress over time. Learning a language takes time and effort, but you can have a lot of fun along the way! Outside of the classroom, Anthony enjoys writing poetry, reading novels, journaling, and hanging out with his black cats Moonlight and Shadow. Meet your Instructor: Anthony!
